Lush Goodies

Hi Guys,

So earlier this week I had a moment of madness and thought I would go and treat myself to some late night shopping. I usually have a clear mindset of this is what I need to get and anything else will have to wait for the next pay day. Well, that went out the window! I was walking past LUSH and saw (and smelt) the amazing new christmas and halloween gift sets and had a little pop in.
Now I know that these products aren't necessarily part of the holiday gift sets, apart from the butter bear , from reading blogs and watching other youtubers talk about them, I picked up a few I recognised.

Mask of Magnaminty | £5.50/125mg

A multi-purpose mask with a mixture of gentle yet effective ingredients to clean, calm and clear the skin. I tried this as soon as I came home last night, and OH MY GOD. I can see why this is a beauty blog favourite. With having sensitive skin, I'm used to having a high temperature and this felt so cooling and smooth, I think I will be adding this to my Sunday pampering list from now on. Plus the minty smell is an added luxury!

The Comforter | £4.75/Each

The colours are what drew me. And it smells like ribena! I only crumbled a small amount under hot running water as it says to do, and I watched my bath bubbles get bigger and bigger! God knows what would of happened if I put the whole bar in! It made my bath really sweet and fruity and my skin was quite soft afterwards. A real treat.

Magic Wand | £5.25/Each

Swish around your bath or hold under running water for Snow Fairy-scented bubbles, then pop it on the side to dry out for next time. I smelt the snow fairy bubble bath and thought the smell was extremely strong, so I opted for the wand instead. I haven't tried this yet so I will have to revert back. Make a Wish!

New Charity Pot | £1 Charity Contribution

I can't really comment on this yet, because I still can't get the damn thing open!!

Sali Hughes.. You beauty!

All hail a girls new best friend!

I am so excited that I finally got hold of Sali Hughes - Pretty Honest earlier this week. So excited in fact that as soon as I came home from work, my first question was 'where is it? Where is my amazon order?' Like some psycho lunatic!

I have read so many blogs and YouTube video reviews about this book, I thought it has to be in my hands for me to believe the hype. And oh my god, it's schmazing! I am only at the beginning and I can tell I's going to become a staple. BEAUTY BLOGGERS TAKE NOTE!

Sali Hughes is an award winning beauty god who has been writing for the likes of Elle, Glamour and now The Guardian. She is a consultant to major beauty and fashion brands and Pretty Honest is her first book.

This is a girls guide to all things beauty. From brows to pedis, perfume to waxing, even how to rock the "beauty with an illness" look, she has all areas covered. It's easy to follow chapters make it easy to skip to whatever dilemma you may be facing and instantly have a solution or a pick me up. My personal favourite " To wax or not to wax" with the added quote from Jerry Seinfield about girls being quite happy to have their hairs ripped from the roots, but still be afraid of a spider? I hang my head in shame.

Even though I have only started with this book, I can feel that Sali's personality and the girl's best friend approach really makes this a read for all. I feel like I actually know her! Definitely worth the read and would make a lovely gift.

Thank you Sali Hughes for your words of wisdom.

Pretty Honest is available on Amazon

What's in my box? | Birchbox October 2014

Good Morning!

As you may be aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a subject that is very close to my heart. So BIRCHBOX have "pinkified" their box this month to support Coppafeel and raise awareness of the disease.  Inside the box are the products you need to beautify and prepare ourselves for the festive season.

KMS California HAIR PLAY Playable Texture | £4.25

A multi-functional spray for prepping, styling and settings your finished look. I was a bit sceptical about this one as some texture sprays can leave your feels either greasy or cripsy. So hopefully this one will be the exception. By the smell of it, I'm sure it will be a good'un!

Shaveworks The Cool Fix | £11

This genius cooling gel lotion treats ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness after hair removal. I've never really heard of this brand, or any products specifically with this function, but I will most definitely keep this in the bathroom as I'm always presented with some red bumps and lumps!

Pixi by Petra | £8

A full-size nourishing lip balm packed with shea butter- plus a hint of colour. This couldn't have come at a better time. Knowing that the cold winter days are fast approaching, the worst thing is dry lips! Plus the sheer nudey-pink colour gives the lips some added glam.

Lollipops Nail Lacquer | £7

A classic red nail polish for work and weekend from this chic, fun Parisian brand. I am such a lover of red nails, so this will fit in nicely in my collection as we approach christmas.

Cattier Pink Clay Face Mask | £4,25

A face mask packed with aloe vera to illuminate your complexion and soften skin. Perfect for a Sunday pampering!

Birchbox Lipstick Pen | £2.50

A fun lipstick-shaped pen to pop in your handbag - or make-up bag! I'm really glad that Birchbox have given this little bonus. It's so cute!

My initial thoughts -  I like this month's box, maybe its because I'm not completely familiar with all the brands included, but that's not to say I'm not going to be wow'ed by them. We will just have to wait and see!
